We are very pleased to announce that we will be at the very first CAKE & BAKE SHOW in Harrogate next weekend, 19th-21st June!!!
This poor blog has been very unloved over the past few weeks, so here’s a bumper picture post showing what we’ve been up to & where we’ve been.
Thank you to everyone who visited us at West Kirby Farmers’ Market last Saturday, it was great to see the market so busy! There were lots of Easter gifts being purchased – hope everyone enjoys them next weekend.
With the Sun finally making an appearance, we welcomed two new summery additions to our marshmallow range – mango & passion fruit, and mandarin & Cointreau. As always our mallows are made with only natural ingredients, and the colour comes from real fruit juices and purees. It was funny to watch what started out as a bright orange mandarin mixture whip up to an almost pure white mallow. Just to confuse you (and us!).
Chocolate is one of the greatest and most versatile ingredients in a pastry kitchen, and certainly one of the most popular. It’s one we also use an awful lot of, so when we received an invitation to watch the UK heats of the 2015 World Chocolate Masters competition, we were quick to book a train down to London and head off for a couple of days of chocolate extravagance.
We’ve started out with a selection of Christmas treats like our ever popular Ultimate Mince Pies and their possibly even cuter Mini Mince Pie cousins. You can also purchase a selection of our new confectionery tins, and place pre-orders for our Luxury Jewelled Christmas Cakes, fed (liberally) with VSOP cognac and perfectly matured in time for the big day.
We will be slowly adding other items to the boutique over the coming weeks. Keep your eyes peeled for future announcements and maybe the odd special offer, or sign up to our newsletter to be kept up to date via email. As everything is freshly made without artificial preservatives, we are intentionally releasing some shorter shelf life products (e.g. fudge) closer to Christmas to ensure that all gifts ordered throughout December will be fine into the New Year………………if they last that long!
All our Christmas specialties and gift boxes will also be available at our Christmas market events between now and 20th December (you can see our market dates on the Homepage).

Things are moving ahead slowly but surely with the development of Éponine as a real business venture. We are currently negotiating the details of a premises so we can start baking without having to beg, steal or borrow someone else’s kitchen. Sadly this won’t come with a store front, but we are working on getting ourselves into farmers markets and similar events throughout Liverpool.
If all goes to plan, things should really be taking off in the next few weeks, so we’ve started up this blog to chronicle our misadventures and keep you guys up to date with what’s going on as we get things up and running.
